My Qualifications

I've been professionally inspecting homes for over 22 years now, and have personally inspected over 2000 homes.  I'm a full member of both ASHI (the American Society of Home Inspectors) and in good standing with both organizations.  These are the most important qualifications for inspectors in the state of Florida, because Florida does not yet have licenses laws for home inspectors, and without license laws home inspectors are completely unregulated.  However both ASHI and FABI inspectors are required to adhere to strict standards of practices when inspecting homes and to adhere to their codes and ethics.  Members of these organizations have taken it upon themselves to be held accountable by ASHI and FABI to protect the best in tress of their customers and to assure a quality inspection.

I am a graduate of the Florida Community College of Jacksonville’s (FCCJ) trade school for residential and commercial electrical wiring, (1992 and 1993.)  I also am a graduate of the Florida Community College of Jacksonville’s (FCCJ) trade school for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (1995 and 1996.)  In addition to working in the trades and completing these trade schools I have also complete Inspection Depot’s standard home inspection training (45 Hours) and their new construction training program (30 Hours).  I also have 9 years experience with the Target Corporation as a Building Specialist.

In addition to my experience in the blue collar trades there was a short period of time that I had sold Real Estate, so I am also licensed realtor for the state of Florida.  This was at a time that I had injured my back and had surgery so had to give up any kind of physical work.  I’ve kept up with my license but hold in an inactive status.
